FAQ
ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS
Where Is Your Bamboo From?
We're a UK company, but at present there is no infrastructure or bamboo supply to have a "Made in the UK” or ‘Made in the USA' paper at this time. After our in depth research, we found that China produces the highest quality bamboo grade.
We work with a local factory that was granted 30,000 square metre plot by the government to support the local bamboo production. The factory has obtained FSC 100% certification that provides the strongest guarantee that the bamboos are sustainably sourced and is also independently audited by BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative).
Are We Swapping From One Problem To Another?
Deforestation has resulted in the vanishing of forests. According to the World Bank, between 1990 and 2016, the earth lost 502,000 square miles (1.3 million square kilometers) of forest, an area larger than South Africa. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants and can help rapidly restore forests. It takes 3 years for a bamboo plant to mature, whereas most trees take 15-30 years. What we're saying is: Bamboo is here to save the day. Trees take many years to mature. But bamboo
doesn't take anywhere near as long to grow. It has a short growing cycle of 3 years as opposed to 15 -30
years for trees and even longer for oak species. So,Bamboo is not supplanting trees, instead it is
supplementing our lost forest cover in many parts of the world.
Why Individual Wrappers?
Bottom line, we need a way to keep the TP dry in our packaging! Kraft wrapping in bulk has
similar paper weight to individual wrapping. We would also have to pay more because we are a small
business! So, we chose to go with the more cost-effective and sustainable option — individual wrapping.
Plus, our packaging stands out!
The individually wrapped TP can do double-duty as a travel accessory because you can throw them
in your bag when traveling as an emergency option or if you're hauling around kids, they are perfect for
the car, plane, etc.
